Theif In The Night

 

This Daisy Rae coat is actually my sisters. She bought the only x-small I had, leaving me with no other option than to sneak into her house and steal it. Which is exactly what at did. Late one night (11:00 am) when nobody was home, I busted down her door (using my key), fought off the vicious bites (licks) from her huge dogs (weighting about 20lbs total) and stole the jacket. Before she even knew it was missing, me and the jacket were already in the getaway car and two hours down the road. Me and this jacket have had a fun week and a half but sadly, our time must end. The police (my sister) tracked us down and I must return the jacket or face time in the big house. And folks, this gal wasn't made for jail.

To say it was cold during this shoot would be an understatement.  However, just days later, it got even colder!  This beautiful gazebo is in our neighborhood park.  The nuggets were playing on the playground while the hubs and I shot the snaps.  It was a SHORT photo shoot and when it was time to go, my Ella said, "but I didn't even get to swing!" (with a very stubborn facial expression).  Baby, it's cold and we got - to - go!

Spring

Is it Spring already? The colors in my outfit scream YES! Heck, even the weather last weekend (which is when I wore this outfit) at 70 degrees screamed YES! And when it feels like Spring, the only logical thing to do is dress like Spring. I'm glad I took advantage of it while I could because the weather has started to cool down again. It's even raining today!

Colds and Bows

Well, I have a sore throat. I'm not very happy about this because when I get the flu, it always starts out as a sore throat. But this time, I am bound and determined to stop this sore throat dead in it's tracks. I've been loading up on Vitamin C and cough drops. Also, I had a brownie batter milkshake yesterday because cold ice cream on a sore throat makes me feel better...and I look for any excuse to have ice cream. Plus, I wore my bow earrings and ring from Poshlocket because bows make everything better. Right? If the Vitamin C doesn't put an end to my sore throat, my darling bow accessories definitely will!

Day Dreaming

Today, I am guest posting over at Ruffled Romance while Molly is on her honeymoon. Right about now she is on a topical beach with her new hubby and for some reason she didn't want to take me with her. I mean, they'd hardly even know I was there. But no, instead I, like the rest of you, am stuck here in the cold (don't let the sunny pictures fool you, it's 43 degrees), day dreaming of warm days where I lay (or is it lie? Who cares? When you're on a topical vacation, grammar doesn't matter) basking in the sun and drinking pina coladas. I think I'm going to spend the rest of my day in my day dream. Feel free to join me.

Dress Like A Man

I was so sleepy getting dressed this morning that I wandered into the wrong closet...the hubby's closet. Before I knew it, I had on his super comfy sweater (untucked, it looks more like a dress on me) and his super soft beanie. Not wanting to look completely like a man, I made my way to my closet for some feminine items like my skinny jeans, heels and cute jewelry from Poshlocket. When I walked out of the bedroom, the hubby said, "What? I have such good style that you're trying to look like me today?"

I feel like I must confess something, that story wasn't true. I didn't sleepily wander into the hubby's closet. I was wide awake and new exactly what I was doing when I stole the items from him. I just like the sleepy story better. Truth is, if I got dressed half asleep, I'd look like a complete mess. But the hubby did accuse me of trying to look like him. That part was true.

Behind The Scenes

Looking at these pictures, you'd think it's a nice, warm and sunny day. That's a lie, I tell you! A big fat lie! It was freezing when I took these pictures. Absolutely freezing! I mean, if you judge freezing by the temperature, then is wasn't technically freezing. But my hands beg to differ. To my hands 39 degrees is the new freezing. I don't know how you fashion bloggers that live in the snow do it. You are some tough gals! I couldn't get back in the car with my hands pressed against the heater soon enough. I swear if I stayed out there any longer my hands would have frozen right off. Obviously my hands didn't freeze off my body because I used my hands to type this post. But is was a pretty close call.

Rachel Zoe

I'm channeling my inner Rachel Zoe today. Basically anytime that I wear flare leg jeans, I feel like Rachel Zoe. And when you think about it, the only real difference between the two of us is that she's a blonde and I'm a brunette. Ok, there might be a few other differences. Like she's a millionaire, celebrity stylist, has her own tv show, and what not. But I have a million pennies, style my own outfits, and watch tv shows so I think we can all agree that the main difference is our hair color.

Best Dressed

Hello class and welcome to first grade! Today I am going to give you some tips on how to be the best dressed first grader. I know every adult is just dying to dress like they're still in elementary school so listen up. The first rule is to always say yes to polka dots. Polka dot pants? Why the heck not! Every fashionable first grader owns a pair. Rule number two: color is your friend! Can't decide on what color to wear? Not to worry, just wear them all. Purple, green (technically it's mint but we're in first grade here so lets keep it simple), and blue? Yes please! The last and most important rule to follow when trying to win the oh so coveted Best Dress First Grader Award is... wear heels and makeup. First graders typically don't wear these items (unless playing dress up in their moms closet) so wearing heels and makeup is sure to put it a notch above the rest. And there you have it; my guide to being a stylish first grader. You are welcome my friends!
