I have a public service announcement for everyone:
DO NOT HIT YOURSELF IN THE EYE WITH A HOT CURLING IRON!
Trust me, it is very painful.
My curling iron and I have always had a great relationship. I would even go as far as to say I love my curling iron. But our love took a nasty turn the other day when my curling iron decided to leap out of my hand while I was curling the front section of my hair and hit me right in the eye. And let me tell you, at 450 degrees, it leaves a mark. Luckily, my makeup and I have a great relationship and my makeup is working hard to cover up the damage the curling iron did to my eye. My curling iron and I are going to counseling and working on repairing our relationship. But it's going to take me a while before I can trust it again. In the meantime, I know my makeup is always there for me.

This happened to me a couple weeks ago and I got to work and this guy was like, "Why do you have a giant red mark above your eye?!" I ran to the bathroom to DIY my face back together :)
ReplyDeleteOuch! And that is why I never fix my hair (or that I am way to lazy). I love this outfit Kacie - polka dots pants are just too fun! Have a great weekend.

Everyone is bringing out their polka dot pants this week! I wore mine Tuesday :) I love your outfit. I've been looking for a jacket like that at thrift store, but I've had no luck yet.
ReplyDeleteMy curling iron doesn't have a heat setting, so it's always crazy hot, and I burned my wrist once and still have a scar... But your eye, ouch!

Kacie, I'm fairly sure I burn myself anytime I get a curling iron anywhere near my face (it's like I forget that it's hot!). Can't tell at all, though - you look great!
ReplyDeleteOuch–you poor thing! I have a clipless curling iron and I've definitely had my fair share of burns. It's no fun!

I still have a scar on my shoulder from my clipless iron- the ONE time I didn't use the glove... the funny this is I never burn myself with my regular iron and I use that in the same way (pretending it's a clipless one).
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry your curling iron burnt you, but your hair looks amazing!!!! And i love your outfit.

Ouch! Oh no sorry to hear about your curing iron mishap. I had a similar one with a curling iron and my neck. It was not fun walking around with a faux Hickie. hahaha. Love the simplicity of your outfit and the detail on your pants! xoxo, Phoebe
ReplyDeleteYikes - that doesn't sound fun! I've burnt the side of forehead before but never my eye! In any event, you look super cute in this outfit!

ReplyDeleteOh no, hope you heal up quickly! I've definitely done this more than a few times and it's the worst. I have to say, though, you've done a fabulous job of covering up any marks!
ReplyDeleteYour jeans are super cute - love the polka dots!

Girl, you can't trust a curling iron. They're manipulative, bi-polar little devils. The good news is, you still look gorgeous, and I want to steal your shoes, so.... yeah. :)
ReplyDeleteI love the shoes - Where did you get those? I've been trying to find some navy suede wedges FOREVER! Thanks!!! Love your blog, stumbled upon it the other day :)
ReplyDeleteI got them at Payless last year :)

ReplyDeleteMethod Clothe
Cute pants!! I always think of Macy's as a place where my mom should shop, but then I see their stuff and am always impressed!
ReplyDeleteLove the look; so chic! I always burn my ears with my curling iron so I use it like twice per year =)

Omg girl! That's scary! Glad nothing more serious happened! On another note, you look gorgeous! Did you go darker (hair)...looks really pretty! I love your jacket!
ReplyDeleteNo, I've actually never dyed my hair. This is my natural color. I think it looks darker because the sun isn't shining on it. When I'm in the sun, my hair has kind of a red tint to it.
DeleteOH, OUCH. One of my top 3 fears is poking out my eyeball, so hearing about anything dangerous getting close to people's eyes, especially hot things, makes me cringe.
ReplyDeleteyou look beautiful!
