4 Ways To Wear Black & White

 I'm so excited to be participating in a collaboration with three amazing ladies: Jen from Jenny in Jacquard, Kristin from Living in Color Print  and Christina from Oh So Glam. We will be teaming up to show you four ways to wear certain trends. This time, our theme is black and white. Ever since I saw this outfit by Sidewalk Ready, I new I wanted to copy it and this was the prefect opportunity.

Happy Halloween! As you can see, my Halloween costume is an inmate. A stylish inmate, that is. Hopefully there will still be candy by the time the trick-or-treaters get here. This inmate has a major sweet tooth.

Be sure to visit Oh So Glam, Living In Color Print, and Jenny in Jacquard to see more of everyone's outfits.

Scary Story

 {Top: Daisy Rae / Vest: similar similar / Leggings: similar / Bag: similar / Boots: similar similar / Jewelry: Premier Designs}

 In the spirit of Halloween, I thought I'd tell you all a very scary, true story that just happened to me.

It's late at night (7:30pm), the hubby is at the gym and I'm home alone sitting on the couch getting this blog post ready, when someone knocks at the door. (I'll be honest with you, I'm a bit of a scaredy cat) So naturally I grab my weapon, call my mom, and run and hide. The dogs bark viciously at the door until the axed murderer (or possibly a sales person or friendly neighbor) leaves. When the dogs stop barking, I slowly creep back into the living room with my weapon in hand to investigate the situation. Turns out it was nothing, so back to blog posting I go.

Fall Leaves

 {Top: similar similar / Vest: similar / Jeans: similar similar / Bag: similar / Shoes: Payless / Necklace: similar}

Do you see all the leaves on the ground?!?! You know what that means...fall has arrived and it's here to stay (well, at least for a while)! Hallelujah! We've even had some rain! And that just makes me so happy, which is why there are exclamation marks after each sentence! :) I just want to put smiley faces and exclamation marks everywhere! With the 90 degree weather we were having in the beginning of October, I was starting to think fall would never arrive but it did! Yay! Yippee! :) Can you  tell I'm just a little bit happy for the arrival of my favorite season?!

Monochromatic

{White Top: similar / Sweater: similar similar similar/ Jeans: Genetic Denim similar / Hat: similar / Boots: similar / Cross Bracelet: c/o Libi & Lola}

Some days you don't want to worry about if something matches or if its clashes. Those are the days that you just pick one color and roll with it. Which is exactly what I did...I rolled. I started with the grey sweater my mom bought me and just piled on all the other grey item in my closet. And that my friends, is how you roll with it.

70's Gal

 {Top: Daisy Rae / Jeans: Free People similar similar  / Shoes: Target / Ring: similar similar similar}

I feel very 70's in this outfit. Which is fine with me because I like the 70's. I mean, That 70's Show, hello?! The decade I don't care for is the 80's. 80's fashion isn't that great. Big shoulder pads and huge hair are just not a good look on anyone. And other than the song Love Shack, I don't care for 80's music either. One good thing that did come out of the 80's are babies. I was born in '89 (November 7, 1989 to be exact, which means my b-day is soon!) so obviously the 80's produced some pretty awesome babies :) Also, I don't like 80 degree weather but I do love the weather when it's 70 degrees. And I don't like the number 8. It's an even number and 2+2+2+2 = 8 and 2 is the worst even number of all even numbers (that's why you hear people talk about "the terrible two's"). But 7 is an odd number which makes it better.
 And there you have it, that concludes my logical reasoning as to why I don't like the 80's.

New Trends

 {Top: Daisy Rae (sold out) / Jeans: similar / Shoes: Payless / Bag: Kenneth Cole similar / Jewelry: Premier Designs}

I don't if you have heard of the two hottest new trends yet, but I am workin' them both and I can promise you that you will be wanting to try them too! The first fabulous trend that you are sure to be seeing everywhere is wearing one pant leg about an inch higher than the other. And the other amazing trend is sticking dried grass to your suede shoes. Don't you just love these two new trends? No need to answer that question. I already know the answer is YES!

Zoo Animals

{Blazer: Daisy Rae (sold out) / Top: JC Penney / Shorts: similar / Shoes: Guess / Bag: Kenneth Cole similar / Necklace: similar}

The hubby had never been to a zoo so last weekend we decided to visit the Sacramento Zoo. It was a day of highs and lows for the hubby. He started out exclaiming "I want to quit being a lineman and own a zoo!" But by the time we left, he was sad for all the animals in capture. He said now he wants to own a zoo so he can free all the animals. Silly boy!

Layers

{Top: similar / Chambray Top: similar / Jeans: J Brand similar /  Shoes: Payless / Cross Bracelet: c/o Libi & Lola similar similar}

Fall finally decided to show itself around these parts so I took it as an opportunity to layer. It's been a while since I've gotten to layer two shirts together and I forgot how difficult it can be to get them adjusted correctly. I seriously stood in front of the mirror for like ten minutes trying to get these shirts to lay right. The hubby wasn't to pleased that I will now be adding a five to ten minutes layering time to getting ready everyday but I say the layers are well worth it.

A Sign From Mother Nature

{Top: Daisy Rae (sold out) / Blazer: Daisy Rae (sold out) / Jeans: similar / Shoes: Just Fab / Bag: Kenneth Cole similar / Jewelry: Premier Designs}

I am beginning to think that mother nature is trying to tell me something. Like, "don't worry, Kacie, fall is on it's way". What make me think she is speaking to me? Because I keep standing by the only leaf in sight (click here for exhibit A). Seriously though, the entire parking lot is void of leaves and the place I choose to stand is right by the only leaf that's on the ground. If that's not a sign, I don't know what is.

Shirtdress

{Dress: Jessica Simpson similar / Necklace: c/o Bubble Necklace Co. / Shoes: similar /  Clutch: similar similar}

Those of you that have followed my blog for a while know that I don't like to wear dresses. I just feel so dressy in them. And then came along the wonderful shirt dress. It's like I'm not even wearing a dress but a really long shirt. Dresses I can't handle; but really long shirts...love them!

Wrinkles

{Top: Daisy Rae / Jeans: similar / Bag: similar / Heels: Target / Necklace: similar / Ring: similar similar similar}

I know I've said it before but I do own an iron and a steamer. You all probably think I'm lying because my clothes seem to always be a little wrinkly. Here's my excuse as to why this top is wrinkly: It had been folded in a suitcase and I rushed out of the house before ironing. Ok, so I was headed out shopping and not to some sort of emergency but still, shopping is an important matter. If I had taken the time to steam my shirt, I might not have scored a leather sleeved jacket for $30. Therefore wrinkly clothes = great sale finds = money saved!
