In the spirit of Halloween, I thought I'd tell you all a very scary, true story that just happened to me.
It's late at night (7:30pm), the hubby is at the gym and I'm home alone sitting on the couch getting this blog post ready, when someone knocks at the door. (I'll be honest with you, I'm a bit of a scaredy cat) So naturally I grab my weapon, call my mom, and run and hide. The dogs bark viciously at the door until the axed murderer (or possibly a sales person or friendly neighbor) leaves. When the dogs stop barking, I slowly creep back into the living room with my weapon in hand to investigate the situation. Turns out it was nothing, so back to blog posting I go.

You look adorable, I love the vest and boots! I don't like answering the door either if I'm home by myself :)
ReplyDeleteOh boy, I am such a scaredy cat of answering the door. I usually ignore if like you, but got caught last weekend as I was walking by the front entry when the doorbell rang. Hate that. It was just a few girls from a soccer team wanting to sell chocolate. Of course I obliged, it's for a good cause right?!?

I would have been the same way!! My dogs go CRAZY when the door bell rings, and I generally just ignore it, or if the hubs is home I make him answer. We have crazy neighbors, so even if it is one of them, I don't want to deal with it :) You look precious~
ReplyDeleteooh very appropriate halloween costume!! and the pendant you are wearing looks like an eye. this year like most years we will be ignoring halloween just for the same reason nikki listed our dogs go nuts when the door bell rings so i will turn off the porch light and eat all the candy that i will say i bought to give out to the kiddos but in reality it is all for me :-)
ReplyDeleteI love the loose, bohemian feel of this look. Very put together but probably so comfortable!

Here&Now
I love this. The color of your top is so pretty! Perfect for fall! Umm...please do a hair tutorial! (maybe you have and I just haven't seen it!)
ReplyDeleteHah! Sounds like we're pretty alike! My husband works nights, so I'm always super paranoid at night since people have tried to get into our building before. About an hour after he left one night I heard someone playing with the doorknob and trying to push the door in. I grabbed the baseball bat and shoved the door shut, screaming at the top of my lungs for whoever it was to get out of I was going to shoot and call 911.
ReplyDeleteYeah, the husband was not pleased. It turned out he's had the wrong night and was really off that night. :P
These is such a great take on a Halloween outfit, the soft orange blouse looks so wearable and gorgeous. (Gasp! That pendant is stunning!)
Nice take on the halloween colors. I love your boots! :D Just followed you Kacie!

I'm loving this look, Girl!! The vest is great and the boots are perfect!
ReplyDeleteOMG, I SO FEEL YOUR PAIN! My boyfriend was out one night last year, and some guy tried to break into our apartment. We're talking banging on the door and trying the doorknob and ringing the bell and generally being awful. The dogs were going crazy and it took FOREVER for the cops to show up. I was shaking like a leaf! And I had suuuch a hard time staying home by myself after that. So glad yours turned out to be nothing!
ReplyDeleteAnd you know what? I called my mom too. ;)
Samantha @ Sam ipsa Loquitur
Oh no! That sounds scary! I would have been freaking out! Luckily, nothing like that has ever happened to me.
DeleteGorgeous look! I love how you styled black and orange without it being glaringly Halloween-y (haha). This is a lovely fall look though :)
ReplyDeleteAnd I'm definitely the same way with answering the door...even during the daytime sometimes!

LOLOLOL!! Kacie, you are so funny. I think I'd do the same thing, too. hahaha. Not really... but that is just so funny.
ReplyDeleteOn a sartorial note, you look incredible like always. Love the mix of burnt orange and black. A lot of times I find it difficult to pair the two colors, because I feel too Halloween-y in it, but I guess it's sorta season appropriate right now. tee hee! Hope you're enjoying your week so far!
xx Love & Aloha
