Tennis: Not As Easy As It Looks

The other day the hubby and I were bored and trying to find something to do. We came up with the great idea of playing tennis. First step: Buy tennis rackets. Second Step: Buy me a tennis skirt. You have to look the part to play the part, right? The hubby didn't agree so we skipped this step. Third Step: Learn how to play tennis. That proved a little harder than we thought. The hubby asked if I knew how to play. I said you just let the ball bounce and then hit it. (I later learned their are other rules and you don't always have to let the ball bounce first). Needless to say we weren't very good (I may or may not have gotten a ball to the chin).

While my mom was visiting, her and I played tennis. She actually had a clue what she was doing so she taught me a few things. I'm pretty much a pro now. The next time the hubby and I play, he is going down!

  1. my husband used to play tennis in high school and we started to play together a few summers ago. It was hard but I did start to get the hang out it. I enjoyed having a game to play together!! I love your lacy top and necklace - we're kind of twins today because I have the same necklace and a lace blazer. ; )

  4. The first time I went playing with hubby.. The same happened to me.. I haven't had much chance to play tennis after that!! But m glad you did learn it for your next round.. Yay!!

Kacie, I'm pretty sure we had the same weekend because not only did I wear that necklace with a white tee and cuffed jean shorts, my mom gave me her tennis racket and tennis bag. Totally twin lives happening right now. This outfit rules though -- so simple and chic!

    i'm awful at tennis - i think its bc i used to play softball so i hit the ball as hard as i can, defeating the purpose of tennis.

  9. Oh, the Hubs and I used to have the best time playing tennis back before we had kids. In fact, one V-day, he bought me a cute little tennis skirt, with a matching shirt and hat. =) I had actually forgotten about those. lol I might have to break them out and see if they work for running, too. =)

  25. I loved tennis back in high school - I just never got the hang of the whole scoring thing. Tennis scoring is weird. Seriously weird.
